New Year’s Cookies (AKA Christmas cookies I didn’t have time to post before)

Festive cookies!

I like this recipe because it varies ever so slightly from regular holiday cookies, making them a little more rich and not so sugar-cookie-boring. Plan ahead a little, because the dough needs two hours to chill before it’s ready for baking.

You’ll need:

1 c. sugar

1 c. softened butter

3 oz. cream cheese

1 tsp vanilla

1 egg yolk

2 1/4 c. flour

In a large bowl combine everything BUT the flour. Gradually add flour and throw in the fridge for two hours (longer is fine, just mix it with your hands for a little while). Roll out dough onto a slightly floured surface and get your cookie cutters ready! Check out “Super basic easy tasty frosting. The end.” for a good frosting to decorate with.
