Taco Dip!

I have to apologize for my lacking of a picture, I thought about it while we were eating this and it was already 75% gone. Which means it’s good and you’ll just have to wait until I make it again for a pic.

You’ll need:

8 oz (1 brick) low-fat cream cheese

12 oz sour cream

4-6 oz cheese (depending on how cheesy you wish to be)

Jar of salsa (standard size)- whatever variety you like

One package taco seasoning

2 plum tomatoes, diced

Optional: shredded lettuce

 

No cooking or prep involved, other than softening your cream cheese if you don’t want to deal with a mess.

Mix sour cream and cream cheese in a bowl and spread into a 13×9 pan. Sprinkle package of taco seasoning over top. Layer salsa over that, tomatoes next, and cheese. Lastly, add lettuce if you like on top. I like to skip the lettuce because I think it gets soggy and will ensure that your leftovers will be gross. However, if you’re making this for a party and aren’t anticipating bringing any home, lettuce will work out okay. Serve with tortilla chips!

Add anything else to be creative! Skip salsa in general and use fresh onion, tomatoes, and spices. Jalapeños or other peppers compliment this dish nicely as well.

    My wife makes something very similar to this for parties. It’s always a hit, and I can’t remember ever having leftovers.
